In 1980, Kool and the Gang sang, “Celebrate good times, come on!” We have had a busy summer of celebrations, and we want to share some of them with you! Thank you so much for your prayers and financial support.
Eleven years before Andy and I were born, God gave Bill Bright (the founder of Campus Crusade for Christ) a clear vision to start a ministry to college students. By the time Andy and I stepped on to our respective college campus, both Virginia Tech and University of Connecticut had a Cru ministry presence. Cru now represents ministries on 5,000 campuses and globally, has more than 15,000 missionaries in more than 190 countries. For more info about the anniversary, and stories about changed lives, go to Cru.org/75.
In 1986, Andy and I said, “I do” to one another. 480 months of marriage!
We are blessed to have had one another through so much. We have been blessed by our families, and by having God and Godly people in our lives. And we are blessed by you, our partners in ministry, serving with us!
On July 11, we got a call at 3 a.m. that Becca was in labor. Andy and I drove to Spartanburg. Twenty-four hours later, we welcomed Grady Donald Greene-Rettig to our family.
His older siblings, Murphy and Jameson, adore him. I had the joy of staying with his family for two weeks. He is a chill little man who is growing amazing cheeks! He shared his first giggle just after his two-month birthday.

Then, a month later, on August 14, Miss Raegan Tate Bailey joined our family. She is our sixth grandchild, fourth grand girl. We are thrilled for Rachel and Preston as they pivot their lives into parenthood. I got to spend several weekends helping with early morning, “momma, go back to bed” time. Raegan has met her cousins, Grady, and of course Murphy and Jameson!
As Becca and Rachel live only 30 minutes apart, we have made many trips back and forth, from Charlotte to Greenville/Spartanburg. All the snuggles and giggles are so worth it. We love the grandparent gig!!
