Thousands of college students from various schools gathered together to grow in their walk with Jesus over the past two months. More than 7,200 students attended one of our 12 Winter Conferences. In Raleigh over MLK weekend, I had the fun of serving as the Information Desk Manager at the North Carolina Winter Conference! I saw one student dressed as an East Carolina Pirate, eye patch and sword included! In Dallas, several students showed up in their purple and gold LSU overalls. Some of the attendees were seasoned Cru kids. A few of the students were brand new in their faith. Some were not yet believers in Jesus. After years of raising our own children, it has been great to get back into spaces with students. And now, having served with the Campus Ministry for eight years, I have worked with students for 1/5 of my time on staff with Cru. As I was in Raleigh, I gave out a LOT of info. And directions. And talked with one intern about her life and wedding plans. And gave out breath mints. And WC bracelets (needed to get into the meetings).
In Minneapolis, 800 students from around the Midwest gathered. A unique event at this conference was when the students partnered with local churches to share the gospel and deliver food to needy families across the Twin Cities. One student attended the conference as a non-believer. After the day of outreach, he shared with everyone at the conference that he was moved to receive Christ while he was out delivering food and hearing his friends share Christ in the community. Ninety people trusted Christ on the day of outreach, and 16 of the students at the conference asked Him to be their Lord and Savior.
Three students were ready to go out from the Orlando conference when they had some car issues. They called an Uber. During their ride to their destination, the students took the opportunity to talk with John, the Uber driver. By the time the ride was over, these three young men got the privilege of seeing John pray and accept Christ as his personal Lord and Savior.

Each balloon in the picture below features the name of a student or faculty member, from Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and D.C. who received Christ this fall! Scripture tells us that when someone accepts Christ as their Lord and Savior, there is a party in heaven (Luke 15:7!). Staff from those states had the joy of celebrating these new believers at a recent staff gathering.
