Though the Christmas season is just behind us, I am still excited about the truth that God has created a way for us to be in a relationship with Him. He sent His Son!! What Joy!! What Hope!!
Our family was unable to be all together until Christmas week. We do so enjoy being together! We had indoor snowball fights, and did a puzzle or two. Because Zach’s and Kevin’s families are nearby, we share our Christmas eve and Christmas day. And as we’ve done in the recent past, we waited until we were all together to take family pictures.
Rachel and Preston are doing well — Preston has begun a new job as a warehouse supervisor. He is also enjoying being a part of his church basketball team. Rachel will start the lacrosse season with the NGU team, and is still working at Orange Theory gym as a trainer.
Kevin and Cady are Thriving. Kevin and his office team from Fairwinds Credit Union participated in a couple community service projects — the picture below is from a local magazine featuring them. Cady and the girls will be attending a local renaissance fair and are enjoying working hard on their costumes.
We are enjoying Becca, Zach, Murphy and Jameson living with us. While directing a pre-school, Becca is working toward finishing her Bachelor’s degree. During the fall semester she took three online classes at University of Central Florida. It was crazy (!!), but she got A’s in all three classes! We’re quite proud!
Sadly, the last day of 2023 was a difficult one for us — Zach’s father, Don Rettig, unexpectedly stepped into heaven with his Lord and Savior. The good news was that all of the siblings (Zach is one of nine children) and their families were together in Fort Meyers and were able to be with their dad before he passed on. And then the next day the plague descended on our home. Becca, Murphy, Andy and I were all knocked off our feet. Blessedly, we were able to attend Don’s celebration of life.
If we haven’t said it enough, please know how grateful we are for your partnership in this ministry God’s called us to. Your prayers uphold us, your encouragement lifts our souls, your finances keep us working to help everyone know someone who truly follows Christ.
