An Awesome April

I hope spring has brought breaths of fresh air to you and your family. April has always been an exciting month for us. This year was no exception. We celebrated five family birthdays: Rylie is April 12th, mine is the 23rd, Becca is the 26th and Andy is the 30th. (We also celebrated Cady’s birthday, May 9th). 2021-5-2On April 10, Andy and I were able to be at Rachel’s senior lacrosse game. We so enjoyed honoring her. Then our flight home was canceled, so we had three extra days in SC. We watched Rachel’s team win their semi-final conference game (so exciting). We watched her last college game from home. I can’t believe it has been 5 years that she has been in South Carolina. Getting to be a captain in her senior season was a great reward for her hard work and faithfulness. Rachel was awarded Second Team All-Conference and the NGU team awarded her Offensive MVP. 2021-5-1Two weeks later we drove back to South Carolina to celebrate Rachel’s graduation. She graduated Cum Laude and her Kellogg grandparents were able to be there. Rachel will spend June and July on a mission with Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

In a normal April of an “odd” year (2019, 2017, etc), Andy and I would be gearing up to go to Colorado. However, due to COVID-19 concerns, it was decided that we would forgo our 2021 in-person conference and instead have a short virtual gathering this month (May 2021). And just recently it was announced we will be having a U.S. staff conference, in July of 2022, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Next summer Andy will again head up the database, registration and technology teams. I will again serve on the information team. Many things about the conference are yet to be determined. It is odd to not be packing right now!

What are your summer plans? Is anyone else feeling a little more free from the pandemic? I am taking a virtual seminary class this month and am feverishly reading to stay ahead of it. It is an honor to be able to head up a Bible Study for some of our church women. Andy continues to work from home and host more Zoom meetings than humans should be allowed. The meetings have just started for Cru22 as the Operations Team is formed.

There is a new and exciting project in the works for Andy. For the past six months, Andy has been working to hire a Christ-follower, a gentleman in Kazakhstan who will help with European and Asian computer user support. The services that Andy’s teams offer are becoming more global and this new technician will give those teams some more time zone coverage and significant language coverage. If this works well, Andy and his leadership desire to expand the team to East Asia and Latin America.

Again, we hope this spring has brought you hope and joy. Thank you for allowing us to work where God has called us. Your prayers are vital to everything that we do!

Sincerely,

CatherineAnnBlue
