BACK IN APRIL was the 684th month since Andy’s and my birth; 359th since Cady’s birth; 324th since Becca’s birth; and, 24th since Rylie’s birth.* Wow! We are very blessed.
200: Once again Rachel has amazed us with her drive, her abilities and her joy in playing the game of lacrosse.
She scored her 200th Draw Control for her career (that means she came away with the ball from 200 face-offs). She scored 65 goals for the season, bringing her career total to 168 goals and 189 points (goals plus assists). Rachel was given the honor of making the First Team All-Conference for the second year in a row. I am so proud of this young woman!!!
MORE THAN 500: I love my summer job where I get to serve our US staff who have questions and need information about Cru’s US National Staff Conference. Between January and May 1st my friends, Robin and Lorraine and I have answered more than 500 emails about the conference. That number doubled by the time we traveled to Colorado.
It is fun to see the names of people I have worked with before. It is humbling to hear from international staff who want to join us —South America, Canada, Central America, even Macedonia. It is challenging to get answers for everyone who needs them. “No, you can not have a cat in the dorms.” “Yes, you are registered for that class.” “Yes, you are welcome to come to our conference.” “Yes, the dorms are close to the cafeterias!”
FIRST: This summer marks the first time Andy and I have come to Fort Collins without kids! We are mourning that fact! We all love the mountains, snow, hiking and collecting CO memorabilia.
Horseback rides in Estes Park. Camp fires by the Poudre River. 4th of July fireworks. This summer my mother is coming out to celebrate her birthday (it’s a big one!!!). I look forward to new adventures with just the two of us. We were gifted two nights in a cabin in Estes Park, I sat by the river and soaked in the smells of early spring.
ONE interesting thing about being in Colorado this summer is that I only have ONE shoulder that isworking. I injured my right rotator cuff last Labor Day, and recently experienced a “significant tear of my tendon.” I get to have surgery in August!
MORE THAN 400: Over the past 35 years there have been more than 400 people who have lifted us up in prayer and come alongside us financially to allow us to do ministry. NONE of what we do, what we experience, what we are able to do to serve others would be possible without those partners. Without you!! We are SO grateful for each and all of you. Thank you for keeping us in your prayers and giving generously.

*Andy and I turned 57, Becca, 27, Cady, 30
and Rylie is now 2!
