Stepping Out

Hello friends and family! The school year has wound down for us and summer is barely off in the distance. Both Andy and I have jobs that “calm down” in the summer time and each of us are using this time to take steps of faith.

Andy is helping work through the ideas, “Can the headquarters computer help desk team serve all of our staff around the world? What does it look like to assist our global users? Can his team offer computer help around the clock, across all of the time zones? What languages are essential?” There are several men and women considering these questions — join us in praying for wisdom and clarity!

Andy is stepping back from his office responsibilities in mid-June and will be taking two seminary classes. One is Apologetics, the second is History of Missions. Again, pray for wisdom and ability to learn. Andy is quite thankful that Cru values continued learning, but it is a significant change from his normal schedule and responsibilities.

I have jumped into my new job as a writer with both feet! I am helping the head of the US Campus Ministry write his monthly newsletter to our college ministry and high school ministry staff members. No pressure there! And I have been meeting with the head of the high school ministry to help him put his thoughts on paper. He used the term, “ghost writer.” I am leaning on the Lord in a big way!! Thank you for your prayers concerning my new position, please keep them up!!!

Rachel has headed north to N. Myrtle Beach to start her Cru summer mission there. God brought in all of the funds she needed to participate in the NMB mission. She will split her time between Cru activities (Bible study, discipleship, leadership development) and working at a local business. Because of her previous experience at Chick-fil-A here in Orlando, she stepped right into a Chick-fil-A restaurant there. Thank you again for your prayers for her ability to go on the mission, please continue to pray as she settles into the new routine.

Becca and Zach are preparing for a new adventure — they have decided to move east to be closer to family. We are praising God that Becca recently completed the necessary work and passed the test for her preschool teaching certification! B & Z are working toward getting employment in the Charleston area. Pray for all of the details of the move to step into place! It seems God is moving already, pray for patience and wisdom on B & Z’s part.

2018-05-2Rylie is trying hard not to learn to walk and as she weighs more than 20 lbs, I’d really like that to happen for her. Khloe is truly walking into learning as she discovers colors and shapes and funny phrases! When she goes into the backyard to play she announces, “Shoo shoo ‘nake” to be sure there are no slithering playmates in the grass.
