Summer is coming…

“Life is so un-nerving
for a servant who’s not serving,
He’s not whole
without a soul to wait upon…”

– Lumiere

Hello friends and family! It is a Fort Collins, Colorado, Seminary Program, New Staff Training, Leadership Training, National Staff Conference Summer! For both Andy and me that means extra (though fun) responsibilities and a wonderful change of scenery. Most importantly it is the opportunity to serve our US staff members who serve across the country and around the world.

Andy heads up the summer Office Services staff, the Technology group and the summer Coffee House. He has also been helping to rewrite and implement the new registration system for this conference and the data management program.

I get to serve on the Information Services Team, helping people register and helping to answer their questions. “When do I need to arrive in CO? Where will the big meetings be? Can my cat live in the dorm?” During the last few months when I have been answering emails, there is nothing sadder than seeing “No new mail.” No one has written us to ask questions. No one has tried to register and needs clarification. I know that does mean that things are running smoothly, that people are figuring out things on their own, that information is available and accessible. But then again, it leaves me without anyone to serve.

Would you pray for me? I am making a purposeful effort this year to not only answer questions well, but also to pray and involve the Holy Spirit each time I get into our mailbox. It is really easy to think that I know what the writer needs. It is really easy to trust in my own efforts and brain. But I know that my attitude is not always “right”. My boss Robin is very good about reminding us that we are here to serve, love on, assist, and for this conference our theme is to exceed the expectations of those who serve the Lord with Cru. As the summer activities get closer the questions become more complicated, people need more specific information, and my attitude wears thin. Thank you for praying for me to be faithful and faith-filled.

Introducing, Miss Rylie Olivia Bishop!

Rylie Olivia joined our family on Wednesday, April 12, at 3:16 p.m. Rylie was 7 lbs and 20 inches; she and Cady are both doing quite well. Join us in praying for her as well as for Cady, Kevin and Khloe as they adjust to this new precious family member.
