A Glorious, Beautiful Day!

On March 3rd God blessed our family with a beautiful sunny day, just enough breeze to keep the mosquitos away, friends and family members by our side (many of whom traveled a ’fer piece’) which all added up to a glorious wedding for Becca and Zach. God’s goodness to us included friends who worked hard to decorate and family who were willing to pitch in and even sisters and nieces in Zach’s family who did some wonderful Irish dancing during the reception. The service was worshipful and meaningful (Zach washed Becca’s feet in a display of service), the food was delicious, the wedding cake was pie (apple, blueberry, pecan and mixed berry) and, in the end, we all felt we had celebrated until we dropped. We could not miss God’s fingerprints all over the festivities of the weekend. Please see more pics below!

The following is an excerpt from a good friend’s prayer letter to his ministry partners. Andy and Scott met at Virginia Tech when they were both students. One of Andy’s and my first dates was driving from San Bernardino to Los Angeles to pick up Scott at 4 a.m. Scott served in Africa, and then Scott and Sally and their girls served in Asia for more than 20 years. Their family recently moved to Orlando to serve at our headquarters:

The floor just above where Scott works is home to the IT specialists who give leadership to how computers and virtual products are used across our ministry. Some of these folks create software to meet the particular needs of our different ministries, while others help our staff creatively use social media and other tools to do evangelism, discipleship and to build movements of multiplication! Scott has been thrilled to reconnect with a friend from Virginia Tech whom he has known almost from the time he first started walking with Christ. Andy Kellogg joined Cru at the same time that Scott did, and he was recruited to help staff the IT department with Cru headquarters. Andy has been an integral part in supporting the ministry of Cru around the world ever since. We have loved the opportunity to help take the gospel to unreached peoples in Asia, but I have always admired the way Andy has followed God’s call to lead us in the way we are stewards of the incredible resources God has given us. His foresight, creativity and willingness to lead changes have made us much more efficient as an organization. Most of all, he has been sure of and faithful to God’s call on his life, and leads from a deep walk with Jesus. I am honored to be close to godly colleagues like Andy who continue to help me grow in my own walk with and dependence on Christ.

We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of Grand Girl #2 — any day now.

Please keep praying for Andy as he finishes up the first part of the Summer17 Registration Program. He is also working hard to find new ministry partners. I love this hardworking man.
