Andy’s office is expanding

You are an integral part of what Andy and I and our children do in ministry, and right now we need your prayers.

In the past month there has been a large change at our headquarters — two offices (U.S. Digital Strategies and Global Technologies) have merged, rolling the GTO into USDS. As you may remember, Andy served for four years with the GTO, thus the people whose jobs were affected are people Andy cares about. The transition has been rocky. Andy has been doing a lot of mediation, helping those in transition and those in leadership to have meaningful conversations about the changes. This new configuration means that Andy’s team is expanding in scope and in number to include support for those serving overseas.

*Pray for Andy’s leadership over the new team — that Andy will turn to God as the new group forms.

*Pray for those whose jobs are changing, that they remain flexible and that leadership will hear their concerns.

*Pray for the planning of how the team will serve all of our staff in the U.S. and around the world.

I’ve taken a position at our church

I am now leading Praise and Worship in our Children’s Church — it is a volunteer position I’ve committed to for three months. I believe that this is an important position, leading children into the throne room of God. While I was in college I led the P&W for our weekly Cru meetings. When we were first married I often led P&W for various gatherings, but raising children seemed to change that.

*Pray for the logistics of teaching these children. We presently have a small children’s ministry and many of the children I serve can’t read — thus making the teaching of new songs challenging.

*Pray that I will lean on the Lord and not my skills or talents as a P&W leader.

*Pray that I will faithfully teach the children truths through music, and help them know what Praise and Worship are all about.

And now for the HUGE news……

We’re going to be GRANDPARENTS!!

We’re ecstatic!

Kevin and Cady let us know their wonderful news fairly early — telling us when our new family member was the size of a pea! We had to keep it a secret which about killed me!!! Cady wanted to announce the great news to the world when she was 12 weeks pregnant, which coincided with Kevin’s birthday, September 20th.

The 20th was a busy weekend as all of the Kellogg’s were in Delaware celebrating Andy’s dad’s 80th birthday. Cousin Carissa and her husband Drew were 7+ months pregnant at the gathering (and have since delivered baby Emma). As Cady and Kevin shared their joy, Cady’s cousin Tom announced that he and his wife were due at the same time!! Andy’s dad got three great-grandchildren for his birthday!

*Pray for a healthy pregnancy for Cady, a healthy baby and a “smooth” delivery.

*Pray for our new grandbaby, that he/she will grow to love Jesus and desire to serve Him.

*Pray for us as grandparents, that we will support Kevin and Cady, love on this little human, and be faithful to pray for him/her.
