A Fresh New Year

A New Calendar and an Empty Fridge Door

Happy New Year, 2012! Do you make resolutions? Are you making plans for this year even though the Mayan calendar predicts the end of the world? Are the pages of your calendar already filling up?

I adore the job of filling in my empty calendar at the beginning of a new year — adding birthdays (this year both Andy and I turn 50!), anniversaries, circling important holidays and marking no-school days with  bright red pen. I love things with “potential:” a blank piece of paper, an empty room, a blank chalkboard, my blank fridge!  Each year I take all of the Christmas photos sent to us and put them onto the door of my refrigerator. My fridge gets covered because seeing your smiling faces is a great reminder to be in prayer for you.  I’ve likely mentioned the Prayer Fridge before, but I deeply enjoy this process. It is a great way to feel connected with friends and family, and talking to God about you is a privilege.

In case I haven’t said this before, be sure to let us know when you have prayer concerns (or praises). We would love to come alongside you through intercession.

Prayer Requests for This Year

Please join us in praying for the following this year:

Andy: That the time he spends working on our financial support with be fruitful; that God will reveal new ministry partners.

Catherine: That I will finish well as a teacher; that I will be patient in waiting for God to show me my next steps for ministry.

Cady: That she will grow in leadership abilities and fiscal responsibilities.

Becca: That she’ll find employment for the summer; for the Spring production — Musical Comedy Murders of the 1940’s.

Rachel: That she’ll transition well from middle school to high school — making decisions about classes, fears, great new friends, participation in volleyball.
