Merry Christmas!
Miss Cady continues to do well at Hair Cuttery. She is taking appointments (something she had to earn) and is a key-holder for the salon—a great honor. She was able to come visit us this summer in Colorado with her boyfriend, Kevin. Their puppy, Autumn, continues to keep the world safe from “wild shower sponges.” Cady and Kevin will both be spending Christmas with the whole Kellogg clan, meeting in West Virginia
Miss Becca finished her freshman year of college with a lead (starring, said her proud parents) role in Chicago, the musical. She spent the summer in Colorado working in our U.S. Staff Conference childcare program with 1-year-olds. Her sophomore year began with new roommates, a new musical, Zombie Prom, and as this semester ended she served as an Assistant Stage Manager for a play, The Heidi Chronicles. She is considering an English education major in hopes of being a theater teacher.
Three young men that Cady and Becca knew through youth group have gone to serve in our military during the year. This has taught us all about fervent prayer — one is still serving and two have returned home safely.
Miss Rachel began the year as a teenager — she turned 13 in Dec. 2010. She discovered a new love, volleyball, and made some good friends this summer in Colorado. Rachel began her last year at Trace Academy about three inches taller than she began the last year and has been bitten by the “craft” bug — she is knitting, making friendship bracelets and sewing bags out of men’s flannel shirts.
Catherine continues to serve as the middle school science teacher at Trace Academy. She loved being in Colorado for the summer, loved serving Campus Crusade (Cru) staff members and being in the Rockies. Presently she is leading a small Bible study and working to add “gratitude” to her daily life. One joy of her year was getting to spend time with the families of both of her brothers — Tim, Heather, Jack, Lily, Sam, Ben and Drew in Houston; Matt, Megan, Madeleine and Eliza here in Orlando. We will finish the year with our Kellogg nieces and nephews — we are richly blessed.
Andy’s year began on a fast track toward Colorado — he renewed the conference database which takes several months of work. During the summer Andy gave leadership to the technology team, the office management team and the conference coffeehouse team. A huge highlight of his summer was driving for a week to Colorado with Becca — great daddy/daughter time. Andy returned to a busy autumn consisting of multiple trips, one to Thailand to attend a ministry conference and two to visit with his home church and many of our ministry partners in the Newark, Delaware, area.
We close this year with grateful hearts. And through it all, God has been with us — Emmanuel, our Rock and our Redeemer.
